More trivia

Sometimes Trivia can be funny.

I remember the movie Jerry McGuire where the kid keeps telling Tom Cruises character random information about different things.

Do you know a human head weighs eight pounds?

He later follows up with the statement did you know that my neighbor has three rabbits.

Once he gets the this point, Jerry tells him he can't compete with that.

It was funny.

The random trivia and statements left Jerry speechless.

I love random trivia, Hailee thinks it's funny because I can have some great random trivia here and there.

Random trivia is fun when nothing is on the line.

Currently the scripture I am going through is near the end of Jesus ministry.

The religious leaders are trying to get Jesus to lose face in front of the people by asking him random religion questions.

This time they ask him a marriage question.

If a brother dies, his other brother is supposed to marry her and have kids with her.

So this happens to all seven brothers until she dies.

The Sadducees ask the question, "So who's married to her at the resurrection?"

This was Jesus reply in Mark 12:24…

"Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?"

Ouch.

He calls out some of the wise men of the time.

The Sadducees were high members of society with wealth and power. They did not believe in a resurrection and only believed the first five books of the Bible.

They once again are trying to hurt Jesus character in front of the people.

Jesus tells them they don't know the word of God or his power.

This is blunt.

They don't know him because they don't focus on what was written about him and they don't know the power he's capable of.

Often we get stuck in the same boat.

We claim we pray to God and think that helps us out.

Yet we truly don't know God because often the things we pray for can end up just being a request line.

God is more powerful then we can imagine.

He has strength, beyond our belief.

Jesus the son of God, spent the week before his earthly death being asked these thing to try to discredit him.

Yet they never did.

With God and with faith there is a power we sometimes underestimate.

I love believing in a God with power beyond my own understanding.

There are some things I don't know and have random trivia answers on.

But with God, there is no random answers, he knows our strengths and our weaknesses.

He has power beyond our own understanding.

Sometimes it takes spending time reading his word to understand God's power.

We see how powerful God can be through his scriptures.

It's that power that strengthens my faith and understanding.

How about you?

Have a great Monday.
