Accepted

It's nice to be accepted.

Getting out of high school, it's awesome to get all of the college letters and see that people are interested in you going to school there.

I was mainly looking at a couple of different schools for college.

Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Michigan State, Lansing Community College and Syracuse were among my main choices.

I wanted to go into sports writing or some form of sports and MSU, CMU and Syracuse were all up there.

I decided to sent application to all the schools but Syracuse (Prices for out of state tuition were crazy).

I really wanted to go to WMU and got accepted to go there.

Below average ACT scores (I am an awful test taker) limited my ability to go to MSU and CMU.

I could have went other places but this was my choice.

There is nothing like getting that acceptance letter.

A school you threw cash at just to accepted you.

Acceptance letters were great, they weren't the best letters I have gotten for school though.

Scholarship offers were even better.

It's nice to be accepted.

Whether it's with school, by co-workers, strangers and family.

We are a society that likes to be accepted for who we are and not having to change the people God created us to be.

What if we are not accepted?

Jesus was not accepted as he was looking for a place to stay as he set out for Jerusalem.

The village he was going to stay with found out where he was going and that he was Jewish.

He was not accepted by the people and told no.

Jesus had power unlike anyone and could have done something.

Two of his close disciples knew this power and asked if they should send fire down (also could be lightening) to these people.

This is what happened in Luke 9:55…

"But Jesus turned and rebuked them, and they went to another village.

He was not accepted and he moved on.

There are times I wanted to be accepted.

I wanted to be accepted to MSU, and they denied me not only once but twice (The second time I was required to take a math class to transfer. I was good at math and took a test to opt out of college math. MSU did not allow that).

I wasn't originally accepted by CMU, but ended up transferring over there.

It can be a crushing blow when people don't accept you.

I hate the feeling of not being accepted.

I have felt this way with Churches before becoming a Christian.

You see people happy in their own bubble and not wanting to open the door for more people.

It's nice to be accepted, but it doesn't always happen.

When you are not accepted how do you respond?

Do you get mad, frustrated, angry?

Or do you look for improvement?

I improved greatly through my years through school.

Right now I could go to the majority of schools I wanted to, I will (staying positive) have my masters degree with a 3.9 GPA.

Sometimes we have to work to be accepted.

Christians are supposed to be the opposite.

We are called to be different.

To be accepting, loving and caring.

We are not a country club or an exclusive club.

We are called to be accepting and sometimes we miss that goal.

Are you accepting of other people?

Who or why are you accepting or not accepting of other people?

We all can fall short, but we can improve.

Who are you going to be today?

Have a great day.
