The world is going to end in 2000.
I remember hearing people talk about this just over 11 years ago.
It seems like someone is always blurting something out just to be heard.
I usually like to do this with my sports team saying they are going to win the Super Bowl, World Series, etc.
I do this as a joke and maybe because one year I will be right.
We get stuck saying things we don't really mean.
Or we do things we regret later.
Jesus was invited to a dinner at a Pharisees house.
Guests were picking seats that were reserved for people with prestige.
Jesus told them about how they get what they want, but it means more if someone is sitting in one of the not favorable spots and the host calls out for that person to move up to one of the better spots.
Jesus tells them this in Luke 14:11…
"For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
There is something about having a humble attitude.
When I was working in sports writing and once every great while would come across someone who was well known, it was interesting to see how they would be.
Some cocky, some arrogant but also some that were completely down to earth and respectful towards everyone.
There are some people that stand out in my mind that are very humble people.
There are also some people that are completely stubborn people.
We all get stuck being stubborn sometimes.
How can we be a more humble society?
How can we show this love towards other people?
What do you think?
Have a great day.
