Nothing is ever free.
Even when you see what is claimed to be a great deal, chances are it is not.
There is a store not far from my house that has ice cream periodically buy one, get one free.
It seems like a good deal, but it's not.
The same ice cream you can pick up at other stores for $2.50-3.50 per one, this place is $6 per one.
If you buy two you save a little money, but not that much.
We can get wrapped into dealing with the cost and just pay whatever the cost is.
Sometimes we forget there is a cost for everything.
It goes beyond groceries and food, it goes into life.
When we get wrapped up in doing everything under the sun, we miss out on what's important.
Sometimes we sacrifice things we don't realize we sacrifice.
We are trying to spend quality time with our family yet we can't get off our phone or Facebook to spend actual time with them.
We can pay attention to our fantasy worlds over reality.
We can pay more attention to Fantasy football or sports, Farmville, Facebook, applications on our phone then the people right in front of us.
Sometimes we don't realize what we are doing.
The same goes with faith.
There is a cost behind taking the name Christian.
Luke 14:26-27…"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters – yes, even his own life – he cannot be my disciple. Any anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple."
These are two tough verses to take with faith.
There is a cost for following Jesus.
You aren't going to be able to please everyone.
Jesus wants us to live for him not to just attend Church on Sunday morning.
There is a price to pay.
We might have to put our faith ahead of different aspects of our life, which is hard to do.
We have to put others ahead of ourselves.
For parents, this is done on an everyday basis, but how often is this done for faith?
As a Christian we have to be willing to give our lives to Christ.
This is a hard aspect to realize with faith.
It's not about us, it's not about you.
There are other things more important.
Sometimes we forget the true meanings we life for in life.
We get stuck living in Facebook and not in real life.
There is a cost for everything you do.
What are you going to give up?
Is the cost to high for some of the things you do?
Have a great day.
