Thriving in pain she rolled on the ground.
It was cold dark and icy yet she laid there.
This was a lady who I saw at Walmart on Monday night.
I parked my car as her and two people were walking to her car as they parked two spots down from me when she slipped.
I get out of my car to hear her screaming and moving in pain as she laid on the ground screaming.
The one lady went inside Walmart to get help and the guy stayed with her outside.
I asked if I should call for an ambulance, they said no, "The lady saw an officer inside to get help."
I hung out for a couple of minutes knowing there was really nothing else I could do but watch.
When the police officer came to the lady I went inside to shop.
It was a sad scene, knowing someone is in pain and no way to help.
It's not a pleasant feeling.
I am not a doctor, a nurse or taken first aid.
There are things I can do and can't do.
So many of us can't offer help for different things.
When I have problems with my cell phone, I call my cousin Dave because he's the man with my provider's cell phones.
I might not be able to do a lot of different things, one thing I can do is point people to a life that leads beyond a life on this earth.
Jesus gives us a glance at life after this life in the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus.
The rich man had everything, all the gold chains and teeth he could want.
He lived in luxury, had everything nice.
Lazarus on the other hand was a beggar at the Rich Man's gate and had sores all over his body.
Lazarus would have just wanted one meal at the Rich Man's table.
Dogs licked Lazarus's wounds.
Finally, the men both died at the same time.
Angels took Lazarus to heaven aside Abraham, the rich man died and found himself in Hades or hell.
The rich man was tormented and saw Lazarus in comfort in heaven.
He begged Abraham for Lazarus to dip his finger in water and put it on his tongue to relieve him in this fire.
Abraham reminded him that he lived his life great and Lazarus did not.
Times change and it's too late to change how he lived his life.
So he begged Abraham to let Lazarus go speak to his family and his five brothers to warn them so they won't go to hell.
Abraham reminded them, they have Moses and the prophets to listen to them.
He said, no, if you send someone from the dead they will repent.
This is what he said back to them in Luke 16:31…
"If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead."
I am not a doctor and cannot cure cancer, AIDS or a painful sickness.
I can point you to a life after this one where you can live in peace and comfort no matter what happens on this world.
If you repent (Apologize for your sins), accept Jesus as being real, the son of the living God and dying on the cross for you sins and living for him as your savior, this is the start of faith.
The choice you make today with Jesus could be a life or death response.
What are you going to do?
If you are already a Christian, is this something worth sharing?
Who can you share this with?
Have a great day.
