I am glad to pay taxes.
This is a comment I have never heard someone say.
I understand that taxes are a way of life.
We all have to pay taxes.
When we don’t pay taxes we go to that one place, what is it, oh yeah, jail.
We have to pay taxes.
In biblical times the faithful people didn’t like paying taxes.
They were giving taxes to the Roman Empire and they we not happy about it.
Everyone had to pay taxes.
Yet even though they paid taxes, they were not happy about it.
Religious leaders tried to trick Jesus.
They asked if it was right to pay Caesar or not.
Jesus replied with this in Luke 20:24-26…
“Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
“He said to them, “Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”
The money we use is the country we pay taxes too.
The leaders tried to trick Jesus but they became quiet.
We are all supposed to pay what we owe people.
The government is no exception.
We give to God what he ask and we give to government what we give to government.
We have to deal with this.
No matter if it makes us happy or not.
We can have a thankful heart and give out of love or spite.
That is our choice.
