Prep time counts.
I quickly ran through my bracket and didn’t look at the teams, I paid a price as a result.
I think I am dead last.
We have prep for some things in life, some take a little time and others take a while.
What takes a while to prep for? Feel free to share.
When I think about things to prep for, this is what pops in my head…
• Having a kid
• A test
• Buying a house
• Choosing a college
• Choosing a career
• Filling out an NCAA tournament bracket (I failed at that one)
The list could go on and on.
There are things in life we have to prepare for.
In Luke 22, Jesus and his disciples are preparing for the Passover meal.
It’s amazing how this process worked out.
Listen to some of the preparations Jesus told his disciples to prepare in verses 10-12…
“As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teachers asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there.”
Everything happened and was setup.
We have to setup for some things in life.
We have to plan when things I happen.
I spent five years working in a college café.
When you are planning to feed between 400-1200 people in a three hour meal, there is a lot of planning that happens.
Life requires planning.
Faith requires planning.
It’s been hard to stick to what I planned on doing this month.
I am falling behind when it comes to working on my paper and that needs to change.
We have to plan in order to accomplish our goals in life.
While our plans can change, our lack of planning will make sure nothing will move forward.
What do you need to spend more time planning for?
How will that change what you are doing now.
The Passover took planning and the setup was worth having an amazing meal with Jesus.
Planning can help.
What do you think?
Have a great day.
