Cholestrol level above 300. Is that good?

A time will come when people call you out for your actions.

Imagine being called out.

What do people call you out on?

Work performance?

Grades?

Being a hypocrite?

Being called out might not be fun but the results can be well worth it.

Can being called out be good for you?

It might depend on your reaction.

When I was at Central Michigan University, I had a physical fitness/education class as part of my degree.

In the class we got extra credit if we went down to the health department and got our cholesterol and triglycerides tested.

I didn’t think anything of it, until I got a call from the health department to come and find out my results immediately.

When I got down there they said my cholesterol was 307 and my triglycerides were 520.

I still had no idea what this meant.

This is what those numbers showed…

Many people have high triglyceride levels due to being overweight/obese, physical inactivity, cigarette smoking, excess alcohol consumption and/or a diet very high in carbohydrates (60 percent or more of calories). High triglycerides are a lifestyle-related risk factor; however, underlying diseases or genetic disorders can be the cause. The mean level of triglycerides for American adults age 20 and older is 144.2 mg/dl.

High blood cholesterol. A person with this level has more than twice the risk of coronary heart disease as someone whose cholesterol is below 200 mg/dL.

The doctor I went to was very concerned.

I was put on medication and told to start watching my diet and health a lot closer.

It was a scary moment for me, but it allowed me to see I needed to take better care of myself.

I started taking medication for this along with starting to work out more.

As a result I am now at a cholesterol level of 130 and a Tri. Level of 113.

If I didn’t get the bad results I wouldn’t have changed my life.

When you get bad news, do you let that make your life?

Stephen in the book of Acts 7 called out the religious leaders of the time.

This is what he said in verses 51-53…

“You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit! Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him— you who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it.”

This really ticked the people off.

In the next section we will see if they responded in a good or bad way.

When you look at your life and when you are called out, how do you respond?

Do you respond in a good or in a bad way?

Being called out is usually not a fun process, but the results of it are up to you.

You can let being called out make or break you.

I needed a major change in my life in order for health to get better.

I am glad I got called out then.

It changed my life.

Being called out doesn’t always mean great things, but it can turn into great things.

Are you going to focus on improving even when you get called out?

Have a great day.
