A leader worth following

Were following the leader, the leader, the leader, were following the leader wherever he may go.
This popped in my head today. I had no idea that it came from Peter Pan. It’s amazing what you can remember and forget at the same time.
There are some leaders I have followed that led me down a path I loved. Other people have led and I have followed down a path I should not have taken.
Paul talks about following leaders in the section Philippians 3:15-21.
Some leaders can be for Christ as Paul was and some might not be.
Philippians 3:18-19:
For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.
In this time and this letter, Paul wrote to people who could be swayed by false leaders and people turning people away from Christ instead of towards him.
Their god is their stomach, they only do things that are pleasing to them.
Man, talk about a struggle. Living and doing things pleasing only to you.
Food can be destructive for me alone. I need to watch what I eat and often that can be a destruction for me, but for Paul it goes past just food.
We need to set our eyes on things beyond this earth. We can’t just look what right in front of us.
We are on earth and supposed to think about things past earth, but we can still care about what’s going on in the world. Paul alerted us about focusing on things on earth to gain a reward with God. We need to live for Christ not to gain a reward with Christ.
How can you focus on Christ today instead of something that would just give you a temporary pleasure?
Have a great day.
