It’s easy to get stressed out and worried. I remember
watching a movie in which the son comes down to the dinning room. He sees his
dad at the table reading the newspaper.
He asks his dad how’s it going? The dad replies, “Son, do you
know this whole country is going to crap?” This is an older movie but you could
say the same thing can happen today.
The older I get the more I pay attention to politics, the
world and how crazy it can be in certain situations and places. It’s easy to
become worried and nervous about what’s going on in the world. Social Media can
make this worse.
This is what Paul shares in Philippians 4:5-6…
“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do
not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Let your gentleness be evident to all? Well, I failed at
that one. While I feel like I am gentle, instances instantly pop in my head
where I am not.
We are not alone in this, anxiety can plague us all and
overtake us.
God reminds us to give it over to him. Easier said then
done, what happens when we finally realize we can’t control everything in our
life?
Life can consume us.
Give things over to God and see the difference that can make
in your life.
What would happen if we were gentle and respectful to all,
how would our community and social media look if this was the case?
Nobody said it would be easy, it can be a challenge.
Try to let your gentleness be evident to all, see what
difference that can make.
Have a great day.
