He’s not going to make it.

Dave's strength goes beyond what I can imagine.

It was dirtball weekend (Our annual HUGE family camping trip from the Guston side of the family. Over 60 people go camping from our family over this weekend) a couple of years ago in which my uncle Bill saw a rock.

It was a nice flat looking rock.

He said something along the lines of, "That rock would look great at my home. I might come back and get that later."

A group of us late, late at night found ourselves on the beach.

After messing around on the beach for a while we spotted the rock.

Somebody said, "Hey that's Bill's rock, dig it out we can take it back to him."

Remember, this is supposed to be a little bit bigger than the football and mostly flat.

We started digging and digging and digging.

By the time the full rock was dug out it was huge.

It looked like an old school medicine ball and weighted a lot more.

Someone said, "I don't think that's what Bill expected."

We decided to leave it there because the beach was a steep 150 stair climb to the campground.

Dave said something then picked up the rock.

Dave looked like the rock weighed as much as him.

Yet here's Dave taking this rock up this incredible climb.

I kept thinking as Dave was stumbling up, "Man, Dave is going to lose his balance and fall down. I don't think he could make it through that fall."

Yet Dave did. He made it back up the hill and to the campground.

It was an amazing accomplishment. I didn't think anyone could move that rock.

I was in awe of Dave.

I was up early in the morning when Uncle Bill just woke up.

I said, "Hey Uncle Bill, does that rock look familiar?"

He looked it over and said, "No."

I said, "It's the rock from down on the beach."

He said, "Oh, well I didn't want a rock that big."

I was almost laughing so hard I was in tears.

I told him the story and he said, "Well I guess I could still use it."

A rock that I thought couldn't be moved, but Dave did it.

There are some rocks that can't be moved by human strength.

Zechariah 12:3…

"On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves."

God made Jerusalem at one point the weakest place, now it's the strongest.

Their enemies would no longer destroy it, anyone who tried would be hurt.

When God is behind something, it's not going to fail.

When we truly have God's desires as our desires, nothing is going to stop them.

This requires us to keep ourselves in check.

Are our desires in line with God desires?

Is they are not, we should change.

I never thought Dave could take that rock, but he surprised me.

God is a rock that is with us forever when we claim him.

We should be glad to have that in our lives.

Have a great day.
