Lying catches up with all of us.
Some people are really great liars though.
No matter what we will eventually have to talk to one person about it.
Not an easy thing to admit, we have to answer to others about lying.
How do we start lying, what starts us down that path?
We had the joy of going and spending a fun week with the Otto's while I was at school.
One day Hailee, Bonnie and the kids went to McDonalds.
Nevaeh had a bad fall and got an awful scab on her face.
Later on Nevaeh's wound was getting better, but we saw her start to pick at it.
We asked her, "Nevaeh did you pick at it?"
Nevaeh responds, "No."
You can see how it's peeled away from her face.
So we ask her the same question, "Did you peel your scab?"
"Yes," she responded.
Nevaeh has been doing this for a while, it comes and it goes.
Where does lying start?
I remember lying about things at a young age too.
I wonder how these things come about.
Lying is never a good thing, yet it's something we have all done.
It's even worse when you are a minister.
Yet we even see this happen, ministers and people of God lie too.
I am glad we have God's grace today through Jesus.
Listen to lying by false prophets in Zechariah 13:3…
"And if anyone still prophesies, his father and mother, to whom he was born, will say to him, "You must die, because you have told lies in the Lord's name. When he prophesies, his own parents will stab him."
Original thought, I am glad I don't live in that time.
The entire section is talking about cleansing from sin.
I don't know if this verse is being literal or making a statement, but either way it's rough.
We lie, I am no exception.
Why do we do this?
Such a simple task yet we struggle do it this.
How would things change if we were honest, told the truth.
How would people look at us?
Nevaeh started lying at a young age just like many of us.
Is this something we just started to accept that people do or are we quick to say to someone else don't lie but do it ourselves?
What do you think?
Have a great day.
