Van’s dead again

Everyone will have a major emergency happen in any 10 year span.

This is one of the sayings from Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University (FPU).

Another saying is 34% of Americans could not cover a $5,000 emergency.

Hailee and I have not done a great job at saving, but we are trying to improve for when emergencies do happen.

Today was one of those days.

Hailee and the kids should be on their way to visit friends and family in Michigan.

Should being the key word.

Instead, our van would not start today.

We tried to jump it and there was no start.

Here is something different for us.

We actually can pay to fix the car with money.

While we are not loaded, we will be able to fix the car without charging it on our credit card.

The credit card was our emergency fund. If something would break, we would just charge it.

This is now different.

While this is sad because Hailee wanted to be on the road, we are thankful that we don't have to charge this.

Zechariah 14:13…

"On that day men will be stricken by the Lord with great panic. Each man will seize the hand of another, and they will attack each other."

One of the things Dave Ramsey says (Which happened to us) people will fight over finances and who's fault it was.

We did fight and it did no good to do the blame game.

That was a week ago.

The people in Zechariah's time were dealing with the Lord coming and taking control again. Those not living his ways would suffer, they would deal with a sense of panic.

We have a sense of panic with money and when something bad happens.

It would be nice for the van to work and for the kids to get up there without a problem, but at least we are trying to improve.
