Hello again.
It's been a long time since I have done one of these.
It's official, I have all my school work done for this semester.
This means that I have two weeks before my next intensive week starts.
With two papers left to be graded, I have a 96.22% in Interpreting Scripture.
In Family Life Education, I have no idea.
I finally got a hold of the teacher and had I think the weirdest phone conversation I have ever had.
Can't really explain it, ask me about it in person sometime.
There comes a point when we need someone to go the extra mile for us.
Finishing up with school, my papers often get jumbled together.
My thoughts might wonder while writing a paper and honestly I need someone to edit the papers.
I have two amazing editors: Hailee and Lynn.
Without these two people, my papers would have been bleeding red from mistakes.
They went the extra mile for me.
Hailee would be cleaning house and chasing around two kids while being almost nine months pregnant.
By the time kids nap time would role, she would be ready to chill.
Instead of relaxing, Hailee has been editing my papers this week.
It's something I am so grateful for.
Lynn has just been amazing over the past year too.
Anytime I needed Lynn to edit a paper, she always helped out.
This required her to get my paper after working all day and giving up free time to edit my papers.
I am very weak when it comes to editing, having two people that are willing to do this for me is amazing.
Thank you so much Hailee and Lynn.
Jesus was a pretty good editor too.
Jesus talks about the Golden Rule in Matthew chapter 7 verse 12…
"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."
We all need this in our lives.
Often our struggle is the fact we want somebody to do something for us and not think about doing something for them.
Over my last several devotions/blogs Jesus has been preaching one entire sermon.
So in everything is his way of say, in conclusion or wrapping up what I said.
He gives the Golden Rule and says this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Jesus came not to replace Judaism, but to continue it.
He summed up what was said in the Law and the Prophets.
This is an amazing feat.
Jesus was a sweet editor.
Just like Lynn and Hailee are amazing, so was Jesus.
He summed up a TON of books in one phrase.
Do to others what you would have them do to you.
There is power behind that phrase.
It's a power that only can be defined by action.
The Golden Rule is amazing, my study Bible says it's found in negative form in Rabbinic Judaism, also in Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism.
There is power in doing something for others.
We forget about our own problems and worries when we put others before us.
Who can you go the extra mile for today? This week?
If we want someone to go the extra mile for us, we have to be willing to do the same.
Have a great day.
