The Great One

For hockey everyone knows this person as Wayne Gretzky.

One of the greatest if not the greatest hockey player in history.

Sports, it's really easy to see who's the greatest because there is an outcome and a result.

I hate the Bulls, but they were easily the best team in the 90's.

Being a Pistons fan, I have always hated Michael Jordan because he was the best and on a rivals team.

The disciples were having a question on who's the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18: 3-4 is the start of the conversation, he calls a child to stand among them then says…

"I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Whoever humbles themselves, get off their high horse and becomes normal will be great.

This is amazing, Jesus doesn't say it's having high standards, raising the bar, converting thousands of people. Whoever humbles himself like a child.

What is it that is humbling about a child?

Nevaeh is a sweetheart, she turned five today.

Like every five year old she has her moments, but she is never afraid to come back to us when she makes a mistake.

She loves people and doesn't hold grudges. She doesn't know the evils of the world and isn't afraid to show what she loves.

It's amazing.

I love just watching Nevaeh live, as weird as it sounds.

To watch her grow up and try to figure different things out on her own.

It can be humbling too when a four year old puts you in your place and she has before.

Whoever has went through life took bumps and bruises yet humbles themselves is the greatest.

What a hard challenge.

Life is a challenge, a challenge that is fun yet pushes us so hard sometimes that we feel like we at any minute can fall apart.

Jesus doesn't care about us holding up our front to show off.

He cares about our heart, the fact we aren't thickheaded and are willing to show we make mistakes.

Where are you with God?

How do you measure greatness?

How humbled are you?

Have a great day?
