If you knew immense pain was a head, would you still go?
There are a couple of area's that you know might cause you great pain…
- If you are working a hard job whether physical or that requires tough work (Like working for CPS and having to choose if kids should be taken out of the house).
- You have to confess to people the wrong you have done and know they won't take it well.
- Knowing your going overseas in dangerous area's whether in the military or as a missionary.
The list could go on.
Would you still go, knowing the dangers ahead?
I went through some things causing immense pain.
I knew it would be painful and there was no way around it.
Yet I still went in and did it.
What was it?
Surgery on my knees.
I knew it had to be done because my knees were in bad shape.
So I scheduled a date for pain.
Made sure I didn't eat past midnight for pain.
Showed up early for the pain.
Got an IV (Which I don't like) for pain.
Then had my knees sliced open, cleaned out and closed up.
For the next 6-8 months, I had pain in my left knee.
The right knee was a little bit quicker and healed within about 4-5 months.
I relied on a leg brace for just over a year.
Not easy.
But after the surgery, my amazing doctors Julie Dodds and Amy Worthing (I highly recommend) said my knees will be better than they have ever been.
Without the pain, my knees would have just gotten worse over time.
A year and a half of pain is worth how my knees feel today.
Sometimes it takes going through pain to make us really appreciate our life and what we have.
The best part, when the pain is over you can move on and live a more thankful life.
I know I have with the pain I have went through, I am happier now.
It's more than just the pain I went through in knee surgery too.
Jesus told the disciples the pain he was going to subject himself too.
How he was going to die a painful death.
Matthew 20:18-19…
"We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!"
Jesus was…
- made fun of.
- Flogged (whipped with sharp things at the end that would rip the skin off a person 39 times).
- Crucified (One of the most painful deaths ever experienced).
He knew the pain going in, but knew why he did it.
Jesus did this for each and everyone's sins.
The mistakes WE have all made.
On top of that, he was raised to life!
The pain, the hurt ended up in death but three days later he was raised from the dead.
I am so glad Jesus did this for us.
Sometimes the pain we go through in life will make us stronger in the end.
Jesus went through tremendous pain for us, so we can live the lives we live.
Along with that we have a choice to believe in him or not.
A choice to believe in someone who died for everyone.
The choice is ultimately yours to believe or not.
Part of the perfect world is God gave us free will to believe or not believe what we want.
Do you believe in Jesus?
Live your life for him?
Are you still on the fence if he exist?
What do you think?
Do you have any questions?
I might not have all the answers, but I will answer any question you have to the best of my abilities.
Have a great day.
