Starting lineup

I love the starting lineups to basketball games.

I swear they could make the worst player in the world sound like an all star.

AT 5 FOOT 8 AND SLIGHTLY OVER WIEGHT HAILING FROM LANSING MICHIGAN…

Somehow there is just an excitement that just boils up when you hear it.

You always love the start, whether it's waiting for the headlining band to come one or if it's the all star athlete getting announced, you love it.

I still think they could do this for anyone from the all star athlete to the out of shape guy handing out peanuts.

You get a spotlight and an announcer with a deep voice and everyone gets excited for it.

The bigger the name though the more people were cheering for.

When Jesus came through Jerusalem for the last time, he got an entry like this.

No spotlights and but the entire city was buzzing at the arrival of Jesus.

A large group of people laid their cloaks on the road, others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

People went ahead of him yelling his name, yelling, "Hosanna in the highest!"

It's stated the whole city was stirred about this and asked who this was.

Matthew 21:11…

The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."

It wasn't one or two people that answered but instead an entire crowd.

They were all amazed at Jesus.

We always recognize the big and the brave, the All-Stars in sports, the headlining band at concerts, the leaders of our communities and presidents of companies or country.

Jesus got an overwhelming welcome.

But just at a turn of a hat people can change what they think of a band or a player if they start performing band.

It was a short lived thing.

Soon they wouldn't be cheering for Jesus, it's going to get worse for him.

Knowing that he came to a city with such an overwhelming entrance and he knows he is going to die here.

Why?

He was perfect yet he's going to die.

Sometimes things just aren't right, this is one of those times.

Sorry to leave you on a sad note, but Jesus was perfect yet will face an awful death.

We will look at this more over the up and coming week.

Have a great day.
