The thing about looking at houses, you can never tell a good house from the outside.
There are some absolutely beautiful houses from the outside but once you get inside they are complete dumps.
It's amazing how some things are so great looking from the outside that once you get on the inside they look awful.
Some of the houses really surprised us that we looked at.
It can be easy to look great from the outside but be messed up from the inside.
This could be true with….
- Homes
- Cars
- Churches
- Relationships
- Finances
- People
One of the hardest things to judge is how we are as people.
People can look great from the outside whether physically or mentally.
On the inside it could be the furthest thing from the truth.
It's easy to save face and look composed.
I think some of the best people with this is those going to Church on Sunday, ministers can be the best at this.
They serve God so they can't have issues.
Often they are the ones the devil test the most.
People go to Church with the idea everything is together when it couldn't be further from the truth.
A band aid will only cover up a wound for so long before it's exposed.
Jesus was a master of seeing people for who they really were, Matthew chapter 23 in Moses hits on the core of so many people.
He spends the entire chapter keeping it real and challenging the religious leaders.
He rips them apart.
They looked composed and on the outside nobody would know how messed up they really were.
The inside was a different story.
He calls out the Pharisees as hypocrites in verse 25, this is the last sentence of that verse…
"You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence."
We all fall short of who we really are.
The Pharisees were the same, Jesus gave them the chance to repent multiple times, but they were to busy living their own happy lives.
Sin destroys us all.
The Church is no different than anywhere else.
There are people that are eaten up on the inside.
The slightest button could destroy them.
We are often on thin ice.
The enemy isn't always on the outside but right on the inside.
I am no better than anyone else, we all faces our own demons.
The demons we face are usually on the inside and nobody can see our own personal demons.
We do a great job of covering it up.
At some point we come to a point when things have to change.
We can't keep living this lie.
The Pharisees went there lives doing this.
They were great at saving face, yet they had some of the most issues.
What's bothering you today?
The Pharisees never stopped to repent and change.
Are we the same way?
There is always some there to listen to us if we go to that person.
We were never meant to harbor bitterness.
Jesus could care less what we look like on the outside.
He cares about how we are on the inside.
How are you doing on the inside?
Have a great day.
