There’s a sparkle in the diamond, literally

So there was a store I would buy Hailee jewelry at.

I am not a jewelry expert by any means, but it wasn't a Walmart or Meijer's or something like that.

It was a little bit better than that, but still not a jewelry store.

The prices were always great and I could get decent jewelry for cheap.

One time I took my friend Brian with me maybe a month before Christmas.

As we looked at this store and saw an awesome deal, we started looking at things closer.

He got out the jewelry magnifying glass and said, "hmmm, that's strange."

It ends up there was an actual sparkle in the jewelry.

Like glitter, I have no idea how it got in this diamond but it did.

We looked through more jewelry that was the same type, it also wasn't that great.

It ends up you basically get what you pay for.

This was low quality jewelry and even though it said a bigger cut diamond, it was anything but that.

From a distance you would never tell but up close you would see the truth.

This was a problem with diamonds but the same could be said about people.

Sometimes people aren't always the way they seem.

A while ago there was one person I worked with that prided himself in saying that he loved people.

He had such a love for people.

When I saw this same person up close he was anything but that.

I didn't notice this right away, but some of my family did.

Hailee's mom (Sandee) and grandma (B) got a chance to meet this person and in the first hour they said, "We don't like that person."

"There is just something wrong with that person."

They went on to explain why they viewed this.

I never would have guessed this, at first I doubted them. Yet they were dead on and I was wrong.

Jesus picked up on things really quickly unlike me.

In Matthew 24 he talks to his disciples about what's going to happen.

He talks about how certain people will be deceivers.

People will be deceived or deceivers.

He tells the disciples this in verses 24-25 and 28…

"For false Christ's and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time…Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather."

The person would come and preach messages of salvation and perform signs and miracles supposedly.

After Christ, people would say they come in the name of Christ and deceive people.

Some of the deceivers were so good to the point they even had the elected (I don't know if this is spiritual elected people such as deacons or elder or politicians).

I think we all have the potential to be deceivers.

To be able to trick to get what we want.

I know I have been guilty of that and I think most of us if not all of us have.

Yet the deceiving Jesus talks about is impersonating him and coming in his name.

You would think these people were followers of Jesus, but the truth is, they couldn't be further from the truth.

Often we have to watch out who we believe in and who we are representing with our life.

Are we moving people closer or further away to Christ through our lives.

Sometimes big diamonds are great, but that sparkle might be a little off.

Small diamonds have great value if they come from somewhere great.

Be careful what you believe in or who you believe in.

Are you becoming more like them or like Christ?

I hope to lead people more to Christ even through my faults.

What do you think?

Have a great day.
