Let’s get this party started

Everybody loves a good celebration.

Whether it's a wedding or some big event, we love to celebrate.

One of the great times of celebration is when we get together with people we haven't seen in a while.

There are people in my life that I absolutely love to see but only get to see on rare occasions.

Some just to think of off the top of my head…

My family back in MI (Esp. Onna and Nathaniel), my brother Zach, the entire Guston family, my cousins from the Urbon side, Jason, Chad and the seven percent club.

It's always nice to get together with those you love.

Some I get see once every great great while, people like Zach, my cousin Tom, Chad and the 7 percent club it's been a while.

The last time I have seen most the people above (at the same time) was my wedding about seven years ago.

Weddings are special, people come together for weddings and it's a real treat.

I love getting together with family and friends, it's sad when I don't get to see them very often.

Jesus tells a story about inviting people at a wedding.

With my wedding most people that I invited showed up.

In the story Jesus tells most of the invites didn't want to come.

So the king sent his servants to get other people.

Those people tortured the servants and killed them therefore the king sent the army to kill them and destroy the city.

He finally said invite whoever you can find, so they invited people off the streets, the good and the bad.

But some came unprepared and didn't wear the proper attire.

So the king had them thrown outside and beaten for not being respectful and prepared.

Jesus ends this interesting parable by saying this phrase in Matthew 22:14…

"For many are invited, but few are chosen."

Many people were invited, a lot of them declined to the point they started inviting people off the streets, but some of them wouldn't even prepare for the occasion, a major disrespect to the king.

I couldn't imagine dealing first with the rejection the king was feeling from everyone he invited, then he invited people off the streets.

Some were good and decent people and some were not.

Either way they were all invited.

Some did not do what was required of them.

They paid the price as a result.

A decision has to be made, with what the people were going to do for the wedding.

Just like a decision needs to be made whether or not we are going to follow Christ or not.

Jesus opens his door for everyone, just going to Church does not mean you are going to heaven.

Or just being a good person doesn't mean you're get to heaven.

The only way to get to heaven is through Jesus, through showing up and giving your life to follow his.

There is many people I can think of that I would love to see in heaven, I don't know if I will.

It's sad to say, but I hope those people can change because Christ love is for everyone, the good and the bad.

Those who are good people and those who are black sheep.

Believing in Jesus and following him with our lives requires sacrifice, but it's worth it.

What do you think?

Have a great day.
