Rock star

Sometimes you see people that have a rock star presence.

When people see them they flock to them.

I remember when I was younger, my friend Chad and I were hanging out in Washington Park after coming home from school.

There were a lot of people there for a mid day.

It ends up Magic Johnson had a family reunion in Washington Park.

Chad and I were hanging out, playing basketball and watching them play softball.

We even got a sweet Polaroid picture with him.

For two middle school kids we were amazed that someone as famous as Magic Johnson would be having a family reunion basically behind my house.

It was one of those moments we were left in awe.

We saw a famous persona and were amazed at how close we were to him.

This happened with Jesus.

Word spread quickly about how he was healing people and people came from far away just to touch him and be healed.

Mark 3:9-10…

"Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him.
For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him."

He was a rock star.

Except when people touched him they were healed from whatever was wrong with them.

So many people wanted to touch him he could no longer go into cities and now he was left to get into a little boat so the people wouldn't trample each other to get to him.

Even the evil spirits bowed to him.

When I picture this I picture an amazing scene.

Jesus is worthy of this.

We are not supposed to be remembered like this.

Jesus calls us to servant leadership.

A lot of what we do in our life we won't be remembered like a rock star.

There is no line following me when I change my sons diaper or people left amazed.

Ty appreciates it though.

We don't have to be noticed to make a difference in the world.

I think there was a movie with the theme you want to change the world?

Do one random act of kindness.

What can you do to help someone out today?

We aren't called to be rock stars or famous, but to help someone else out.

Have a great day.
