I don't know what it is about the past month, but I keep getting shocked.
Whether it's at home or at work it happens.
The one's that hurt the most are almost always doorknobs for me.
It's not like it happens every time, but it's bad.
Once every while I will get a little shock which is easy to get over, but often times I will get a huge shock.
It's one of those shocks that you really feel and for the next day or so you are hesitant to touch any door knob.
I hate that feeling.
Do you ever struggle with getting shocked?
It seems so harmless, just touching a doorknob could have that shock capability.
Just a touch, who would have thought?
There can be power in a touch.
More and more people are out of touch with people.
As more people have contact by computer everyday then in person.
As sites develop like twitter, Facebook, MySpace and second life grow more popular, it takes away from a human touch aspect.
I am not saying any of these things are bad, I love these sites and have been able to connect with so many people I don't see anymore.
At the same time there is something different about meeting in person, a touch, a handshake, a huge, seeing someone smile and laugh with you.
There is power in a touch and it's more than just a shock.
Jesus had so much power we couldn't comprehend.
We find out that Jesus had some much power those who were sick just had to touch him.
Mark 6:56…
"And wherever he went—into villages, towns or countryside—they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed."
It was just a touch.
A touch of a coat and they were healed.
Now while we don't have Jesus around in a physical sense, he has so much power.
People were able to touch his coat and be healed.
That is some power.
Today we don't have that same touch power.
There is still power though.
I wouldn't be the person I am today without Christ.
While I might not be physically healed.
Without having Jesus I wouldn't have grace.
I wouldn't have the ability to forgive those who have hurt me to my core.
I wouldn't realize there is greater purpose out there then just to have a job and make money.
Jesus gives us so much.
He has so much power, that same power that healed people is the same power that forgive people of their mistakes/sins.
We are not perfect, but it took one who was perfect to forgive us.
There is power in just touching Jesus.
And there is more power then we could ever imagine with faith.
Have you seen that power?
Do you need that power?
Jesus had the power to forgive me of my mistakes, he can do the same for you.
Have a great day.
