Who are you?

"The question is who are you?"

In the Lion King, Simba lost his way and ran from his problems.

Rafiki Asked the question above who are you?

Simba replied, "I thought I knew, now I am not quite so sure."

Life can be confusing.

Just when we think we have a grip on it, we lose it.

Ever feel like this?

Everyone has a different opinion about us.

Some good, some bad and some could really care less about us.

People change with time, we are not the same people we were a year ago, five years ago or 10 years ago.

We change.

It can be a good thing or a bad thing, either way we are changing people.

We change over time.

In high school, I believe in God and Jesus but hated the Church.

Four years later I get baptized, I still struggle with the Church, but realize everyone that goes to Church has issues and it far from perfect.

Just over five years ago, I make a decision to go from being a sports writer to being a minister.

Over 14 months ago, I move from the only state I have ever lived in and move five hours away, to a place God called me to.

I went from hating the Church and the people in it, to being one of the people and now serving the people in the Church.

Who are you five years ago is completely different then who we are today.

In Mark 8, Jesus asked his disciples who the people think he's is.

They told him, some people think you are John the Baptist; others say Elijah and some say another prophet.

He asks them, who he is and they tell him he is the Christ.

Mark 8:30…

"Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him."

Jesus went around doing amazing things and people still didn't understand who he was and what he was there to do.

The disciple knew, but Jesus told them not to tell anyone.

Could the people take it?

Would they have tried to kill him quicker if they would have known?

Who knows?

Just like people had different impressions of Jesus, people have different impressions of us.

The question that we struggle with, who are we?

What do we stand for?

Do we have a different impression of ourselves that is completely different then other people?

Often times, I struggle with identity.

Who am I, what's my purpose, do I like who I am?

I struggle at times.

Jesus knew who he was and his purpose.

We all have a greater purpose that we still haven't reached yet.

We all play a different role in life.

I am growing, changing and trying to improve in my life.

How about you?

Have a great day.
