When hope fades

A glimmer isn't that big.

It can be a very small inconsistent thing.

Yet when there is a glimmer there is still a chance, there is still hope.

In the classic Dumb and Dumber, Llyod was in love with Mary.

He finally gets the courage to ask Mary if there was a chance.

At first she tells him not good.

He ask her like one in a hundred.

She says more like a million.

Llyod very excited says, "So your telling me there's a chance, YEAH!"

She is confused by this.

There is still that chance, that one in a million opportuinity.

A glimmer of hope.

Sometimes that's what we need to get by, just a glimmer.

Could you imagine a life with no hope?

How sad can be when we don't know if there is someone special out there for us.

Or we feel like we are stuck in a dead end job?

Sometimes it feels like we are stuck.

This isn't how life is supposed to be, but sometimes it's the way we feel.

There once was a blind man.

This instantly makes this man an outcast.

When people were hurt or sick in a bad way they thought you must have done something against God to tick him off.

They would stay away from these people.

This blind man was an outcast with no hope for being healed.

Then he heard Jesus was coming.

Instantly he changed.

Chances are word would have gotten around about who he was and what he was doing.

So this man called out to Jesus at the end of Mark 10:47 and 48…

"Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!...Son of David, have mercy on me!"

Jesus later asked the man what do you want from me.

The man said to see.

Jesus replied go your faith has healed you.

This man had no hope.

He was a blind beggar and now he can see.

There was that glimmer of hope once he heard Jesus was here.

Sometimes all it takes is that glimmer that things will get better.

Whether at home, work, school or Church, all it takes is that glimmer that things can get better.

This is what Jesus was and still is….a glimmer.

He gives each and every one of us hope that there wasn't before.

No matter what we did, we can be forgiven because of what Christ did for us.

That glimmer of hope was offered by Jesus when he died a gruesome death for each and every one of us.

It was painful.

He did this for us.

So we would still have that glimmer of hope.

Maybe that is what we need right now, just a glimmer that things will get better.

The blind man got his glimmer for having faith in Jesus.

Jesus has the power.

All it takes in faith in him.

Giving our lives over to Jesus is one of the truest ways to get hope.

Nobody said it's easy to give our lives to Christ.

Is hope worth giving up our lives?

Sometimes we just need hope.

What is it you need the most today?

Jesus offers a hope that nobody else can offer?

The blind man had faith and was rewarded.

What could faith do for you today?

Have a great day.
