Home Alone

Never had a cheese pizza looked so good.

Home Alone is a classic in my mind.

The story of Kevin who wishes his family away and lives life on his own.

It was funny, creatively done and made me hungry for pizza.

An underlining story is the fact that Kevin is alone, he's left behind by the family and has to do things on his own.

As a kid I always wondered what that would be like.

To survive on my own as a kid.

You ever wonder about that?

Jesus went through a time when he was all alone.

He was at the Feast of the Passover when he was 12.

As his friends and family left, Jesus stayed behind.

It took the family a day to realize he wasn't there.

This isn't that odd with how many people were with them.

I still couldn't imagine the feeling as a parent.

Just like Kevin was left behind, Jesus was too.

It took them three days to find Jesus.

During this time Jesus was amazing people in the Temple of his knowledge and understanding.

When they found Jesus they questioned why would he treat them like this?

He answered in Luke 2:49…

"Why were you searching for me? Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house."

They did not understand why he said this.

Just like Kevin for the most put stayed in the same place, so did Jesus.

He talked and studied the religious leaders.

There is a wonder to being left alone, whether as a kid or as an adult.

What decisions do we make, how do we spend our time, are we trying to improve?

Kevin survived, Jesus survived, would we survive and improve like they did?

Have a great day.
