Life can be hard.
There are some things we expect in life and some things we don't.
We were driving to CIY last week when all of a sudden the road almost went to a dead stop.
The next thing we saw was a helicopter flying really low over our heads.
It landed like a mile down the high way.
Traffic started to pick up very slowly.
By the time we got by where the accident was, we saw a car that look like it crashed and flipped over several times, the top was ripped open and glad and car parts were everywhere.
As we drove by this awful scene and the stand still traffic that was behind it, we prayed for the people and workers involve.
After we were done praying, Savannah text our vehicle and said there was a baby seat in the back of that vehicle.
This made a sad situation sadder.
I tried to Google and find a story about the accident, but had no luck.
I ended up finding multiple crashes along I-57 along with one that was fatal and two people died but I couldn't find anything directly involved on the day we went to CIY.
Bad things can happen.
Stats can show that every American will go through a major traumatic event at least every 10 years.
This event not only causes pain and suffering but can cost us very much financially too.
There are many things that pop in my head when I think of a major traumatic event.
Cancer, a major car accident, losing a job, an unexpected trip to the emergency room and the list can go on and on.
Could you imagine those tough times being a blessing?
In Luke 6, Jesus talks about some people being blessed.
The people blessed are: the poor, hungry, the people who weep, who are hated, insulted and others think are evil.
All these people are like this because of the Son of Man.
After mentioning all these people suffering he says this in verse 23…
"Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets."
He follows this up with a list of people he woes.
The people that are woed: rich, well fed, people that laugh now and the people that everyone speaks well of.
Both list are pretty interesting.
There are people that are suffering right now.
The main thing they are looking at are people suffering because of Jesus.
It's a faith thing.
Christians suffer for their faith.
We really don't see this as much in America, but it happens.
The Bible is offensive to some people.
Does this mean that Christians can't have nice things, be respected or be able to laugh?
No.
Jesus gives us hope.
Hope when we think there is none.
No matter if you claim Jesus or not he gives us a hope that no one else does.
When we are broke, hurt, depressed or alone, Jesus is there.
Jesus loves you, no matter what.
I hope you aren't going through I rough time, but some people are.
There is peace, love and grace with Jesus that you can't get elsewhere.
Is this something you have?
Is it something you can share?
Have a great day.
