I love instant news.
With the internet, cell phones, Twitter and Facebook, we know news as it happens.
I love living during this time.
I remember being a kid and waiting at the door to find out if the Tigers won or lost from the paper.
Yesterday the Tigers played the Yankees while I was at volleyball.
In between games, I went to my phone and was able to check the score to the game along with who was pitching, who was up and the count.
I love technology.
We have come a long way in a short time.
We know news we wouldn't know otherwise through these different sources.
I wonder how quick news passed by in the old times?
There was a story of a boy who passed away.
It was the only son for this mother.
I couldn't imagine what she was going through.
A big group was around her.
Jesus saw how broken up she was and raised this boy from the dead.
The people were all amazed that God would be able to deliver a miracle through this prophet.
This is what was said in Luke 7:17…
"This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country."
When the news spread, large crowds started to form around Jesus.
The crowd was so big that he couldn't go into cities.
How fast did news spread about him?
What if Twitter would have existed then?
Before Jesus went to the next town, everyone already knew who he was and what he could do.
We have the opportunity to share news quickly.
Whether good or bad, we have an open forum.
We can use this to encourage or discourage.
We can use this to share some great information or to share information that is just TMI (To Much Information).
We can talk bad about people or family to the world or we can lift them up.
Some many choices with the news we share.
Have you ever thought about what news is worth sharing and what is not?
We don't have to be fake but we don't have to so called "keep it real" either.
Sometimes when we "keep it real" it goes wrong.
What news will you share today?
Jesus just healed someone from the dead, something not many people in history have even claimed to do.
What news are you going to share today?
Is it exciting, is it encouraging or is it going to tear someone down.
Just like a choose your own adventure book, you have a choice.
Choose wisely.
Have a great day.
