We will always have critics.
We will forever have people that judge, critique and offer advice to us.
This is whether we ask for it or not.
For myself, I have no taste when it comes to clothes I wear.
In high school, I wore t-shirts and jogging pants everyday because that's what was comfortable.
People said I had no style when it comes to clothes, well they were right.
To this day I basically have to ask how I look in something to make sure I look ok in it.
I don't mind this.
Yet there are areas where we get over critical in and take offense when people talk about us.
Faith is one of those ways.
People don't usually want faith pushed on them and this is normally what happens.
Faith is meant to be lived out not talked about.
Rather than inviting someone to Church what if they wanted to ask about Church because they see a change in us that they didn't see before?
John the Baptist and Jesus did amazing things.
They had and still have their critics today.
This is how Jesus answered the people who were critical in Luke 7:33-35…
"For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, "He has a demon. The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, "Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." But wisdom is proved right by all her children."
By all her children they are basically saying by all their followers.
People followed John the Baptist and Jesus because of the difference they were making.
If they weren't holy or worth following the people would not follow.
Everyone has critic, Jesus and John the Baptist were no different.
There are always people that will be critical of you and who you are.
This could come from bosses, co-workers, classmates, friends, acquaintances, and enemies.
The question isn't are you going to let them be critical but are you going to stand up for what you believe in?
This doesn't mean you have to smash your critics to the ground (That isn't the Jesus way) but are you going to show them love and care unlike other people?
How are you going to handle your critics today?
Are you going to be critical of your critics?
Are you going to show them love or hatred?
What do you think?
Have a great day.
