All eyes are on us.
Sometimes this happens.
Everyone is looking directly at us.
Watching what we do and don't do.
I don't think I could be a star for this reason alone.
Have people follow every move you do and don't do.
People have a tendency to judge when they see the spotlight on that one person.
We do this in life, notice that person in the spotlight and judge them.
It's not right.
We have to deal with the fact that once every while we are going to be in the spotlight.
How are we going to handle it?
I am in the spotlight for my faith.
People judge me for what I do and don't do.
Sometimes people aren't happy with me and other times they are.
This is the way it is when we tell anyone we have faith in something.
Everyone is in the spotlight if you carry the name Christian.
People will look at you and judge you based on what you do.
Jesus was the known figure, but one day that change.
Jesus sent out the 12 disciples.
He gave them power and sent them out.
This is what he sent them out with from Luke 9:3-4…
"Take nothing for the journey-no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic. Whatever house you enter stay there until you leave that town."
They are going with nothing.
This is the time that Jesus takes a step back and let's his disciples take the spotlight.
They do a great job with this.
Often when we are put in the spotlight, we fall on our face.
We aren't used to be the one everyone looks at.
Yet we are sometimes.
We watch leaders fall and say how can that happen?
We don't realize the pressure that consumes us.
The disciples did a great job.
How are we when we get in the spotlight?
Do we fold under the pressure or do we do things our own way?
Some people do great in the spotlight and some fold.
Now when we are not in the spotlight and looking at the people in the spotlight how quick are we to judge?
Say they are not good enough.
Or we think less of them?
One of the Elders of our Church said a great line yesterday…
"We are here to love not to judge."
How often do we live our lives like this?
Whether we are in the spotlight or not, do we live a life people will follow or respect?
What do you think?
Have a great day.
