Big appetite

I have a big appetite.

I love to eat and that catches up with me.

As I try to watch my weight and cholesterol it changes the way I eat.

I used to love to eat until I was stuffed.

My friend Jason Sleight and I used to have hang out nights in high school.

These nights consisted of renting a couple of movies and gorging ourselves.

We would go to Hot N' Now to get their family meal deal (10 hamburgers and five fries).

We would try to go at closing time and they would hook us up more.

Then we would go to the Krogers by my house and get a 12 pack of Big K Fruit Punch (Taste like Hawaiian Punch but way better) and a half gallon of ice cream.

We would return back to our houses and consume the entire thing.

Jason would always have to finish my half.

We were stuffed.

It was awesome.

I look back at it now and wonder how we did that.

We were full.

Jesus has that same ability to fill us up spiritually and physically.

He wanted to go with his disciples in a remote area but people heard and came to him.

He healed the sick and talked to them about the kingdom of God.

It started to get late and the disciples told him to wrap things up so the people could find a place to sleep and eat.

He told them to provide food for them.

They told him it was impossible and they only had two fish and five loaves of bread.

Jesus told them to get in groups of 50.

He then broke bread and handed out the food.

This is what was said in Luke 9:17…

"They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over."

Jesus provided for everyone.

They found out there were 5,000 men at this meal. With women and children the number was around 15-20,000 people.

God provides for us.

It's not always on our timing which can be hard to understand.

God comes through and takes care of us when everyone else might leave us behind.

That is a great feeling.

It's a reminder that though we go through tough times, but God will provide.

How is God providing for you today?

What are you struggling with?

I hope you keep the faith that is there for you.

Faith in God can be hard at times, in the end it is completely worth it.

Just like the people were left with 12 basketfuls, God continues to provide.

Have a great day.
