In a home it's easy to become overwhelmed.
There are so many things to do and it changes even more when people come over.
Usually one person in a marriage is key in having the house clean before guest come over.
Depending on how important the guest, the more we clean.
It can be a time of chaos.
Sometimes there is no way to get the entire house clean before our guest arrive.
What do you do then?
Jesus went to visit the house of Martha, her sister Mary was there.
When Jesus got there Martha was busy taking care of everything while Mary just sat at his feet and listened.
Martha wasn't happy about this.
Martha went to Jesus mad at her sister.
Jesus responded in Luke 10:41-42…
"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
Sometimes it's better just to tend to the guest and not the house.
I get stuck being like Martha more than like Mary.
There comes a point when people have a greater value then cleaning and making sure a house looks nice.
There comes a point when we have to value people over our stuff and how nice it looks.
Are you more like Martha or Mary?
At some point people have to take precedence over cleaning.
What do you think?
Have a great day.
