Forgive

Some people are hard to understand.

Each and every person is created different.

It can be hard to see where other people are coming from.

We can try, but sometimes we miss the point.

Sometimes we can be quick to judge other people for their faults and ignore our own.

I think of the movie Home Alone.

Kevin had the neighbor everyone thought was a murderer.

He was alone, and a man nobody thought any more than being weird.

Yet as the movie goes on, we find more about the person.

We find out how good he is and how people were mistaken about a quiet guy.

Often times we are mistaken what we think of other people, we need to look for forgiveness.

The apostles asked Jesus about prayer and what to pray for.

Part of the prayer Jesus tells them includes this in Luke 11:4…

"Forgive us our sins,

For we also forgive everyone who sins against us.

And lead us not into temptation."

If we expect our sins to be forgiven, we have to be able to forgiven other peoples sins.

When we hold feelings and sins against other people what do you feel like?

Do you feel: bitter, guilt, angry, hatred, mad or unloving?

We tend to be people quick to want forgiveness and slow to give forgiveness.

Who haven't you been able to forgive?

How has that affected you as a person?

How can that change?

Have a great day.
