Unity

We either have it or we don't.

We are either a part of it or we are not.

Unity affects all aspects of our life.

Work, church, home, family and hobbies are some things affected by unity.

People are affect by "me first" personalities.

I have seen this destroy families, churches, businesses and children.

I have seen people get divorced because they chose to sleep with another person rather than their spouse.

I have seen kids get messed up because their parents never stop fighting.

There are Churches that are so divided there is absolutely no chance of unity.

There are sports teams that have the most talented team in the world, but the players can't work together and as a result they lose.

So many people going against unity, it affects more people than you would think.

Jesus was once casting out demons.

Some people said he could do this because he was a demon named Beelzebub.

Jesus told the people if he was a demon then why would he destroy other demons?

It wouldn't make any sense.

He tells us this about unity in Luke 11:23…

"He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters."

Unity can be a huge problem in our society.

Imagine if we were the UN United States of America?

Imagine if we still were fighting among ourselves?

Not being untied would be awful.

Yet we live our everyday lives like this.

We (I include myself) do things out of selfish ambition.

When we do this it affects our spouses, children, friends, co-workers etc.

Christianity has a history of dealing with people with no unity.

We want our Church building to grow but not others.

We do things to please us but not to be unified.

I love Terre Haute for this reason.

There is unity among churches here.

I have heard ministers get up in front of their congregations and talk about bible studies and prayer events at other Churches.

If you're not for Christ you are against him.

In certain Churches there are so many divisions.

This is exactly what Satan wants.

He can use us to divide ourselves instead of heading in the right direction.

Chaos does not create unity.

If you're not helping your spouse…

If you're not helping be a parent to your children…

If you're not promoting unity at work….

You are creating disunity.

You are part of the problem.

We have a tendency of defending ourselves and showing we are not part of the problem.

Own up to it.

Admit your faults.

Create unity.

You can be surprised what this creates.

Imagine if we put our selfish desires aside.

What difference could that make?

Have a great day.
