I am down from a lot to a few pairs of jeans.
Imagine that, clothes wear down and rip over time.
I am down to a normal pair of jeans and a tight pair of jeans.
Why a tight pair?
- I never knew the size of clothes I wear. (I'm a guy).
- They were 75 percent off at Steve and Barry's (I got them for 2.50!)
Well with all my other jeans gone, I have two pairs left and have been forced to wear tight jeans.
Now they are tight and are still kinda baggy in everywhere except the waist.
I usually where a 32 and it's a great fit, these are a 31x34.
Just a little too tight.
It gives me a goal to go for.
I usually weigh about 180-185 and this reminds me that I need to lose a couple of more pounds to get to where I want to be (about 175).
Whether in clothes, park a car or whatever else you can think of, we try to get into a smaller space.
With parking a car, we might think we can fit into a space but find out it's not going to happen.
As humans I think we like to assume more then we think.
One of the areas I think we assume or think we are good with is eternity.
I know this is a touchy subject.
When I think of eternity and my friends/family it's a hard thing to grasp.
Jesus tells us in Luke 13:24 this response to the question: are only a few people going to be saved…
"Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to."
I talk about this subject periodically because of how huge this is.
You do not go to heaven because you are a good person.
You do not go to haven because you know Jesus (Even the devil knew Jesus and his power).
You go to heaven because of faith.
Not many people get this.
When I talk to people about faith in Jesus we have some simple things.
Anytime someone makes a decision to follow Christ, I have them repeat this section.
I believe that Jesus is the Christ, son of the living God and I accept him as my personal Lord and savior.
Putting it blunt, faith in Christ is admitting you mess up (sin) your not perfect, but you believe in a person who was perfect.
People can ask me other questions about Jesus and everything in between, but that is the start.
As a young minister, I have done a few funerals.
It breaks and I mean breaks my heart when someone died and you are up there speaking and not knowing whether they are going to heaven or hell.
It crushes me.
When you get to do a funeral of a faithful person, it's a joy.
You know the person is going to heaven and there is no doubt from the people there.
It's an amazing feeling not just for the minister speaking, but everyone in the room.
Where are you at with God? With Jesus?
I know I don't want to be in heaven without my friends and family.
I hope and pray that you are right with God.
If not and you have questions I am here for you.
Have a great day.
