Change in your pocket

How much change do you have in your pocket?

Usually I don’t keep much in it, but once every while I will have about a dollar in change.

What do you do with that change?

I had a friend that didn’t like change and it didn’t matter if it was a quarter or close to his dollar, he would give away his change.

It’s amazing how much change can add up too.

A couple of years back we had a change jar, it was nowhere near full that we took for our five year anniversary or something along those lines.

We thought it might be like $50, instead it was $300.

It amazing how something so small can add up to so much.

It really made me think of how something small can be something great.

Jesus talks about this in Luke 21.

There were rich people that gave tons of money to the Temple and there was this poor widow who had two small coins she gave.

It was everything she had.

Jesus said this in verse 3-4…

“I tell you the truth. This poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

Something so small can mean so much more.

We tend to give out of all we have and make sure it isn’t too much.

We can do this with our time, effort, and money.

We might be at work, but we know we are underpaid and therefore won’t give that much effort.

God recognizes who gives out of what.

This section just talks about money, but it goes beyond that.

What do we give, is it out of our extra or out of our necessities?

God knows what we give and don’t give.

Are you comfortable with what you give to Church, your family, your work or your friends?

How can you improve and be a better…

Giver
Servant
Parent
Child
Co-worker
Friend

We can all improve.

Have a great day.
