I don’t remember what the age was, I got tired of happy meals.
I am trying to think of when this happened, but I can just guess between 9 or 10.
When and why did you stop eating happy meals?
The portion of food got me.
I could have this or for an extra dollar have a ton more food.
Food won.
A happy meal didn’t have as much food.
Now imagine a happy meal feeding a family of four.
Impossible.
Now imagine that same meal feeding between 15,000-20,000 people.
Not possible at all, except with Jesus.
A huge group of people followed Jesus around and at a point they were hungry.
Jesus was going to provide a meal to them and asked a disciple how much bread should they buy?
The disciples told him that would take eight months’ salary if everyone had a bite.
If the average salary is $40,000 now, that would be about $31,000 to feed all the people with a bite.
A boy came up and gave Jesus a happy meal consisting of five small loaves of bread and two small fish.
Jesus gave thanks to God and distributed the food.
After all the food was disturbed and everyone was stuffed, there were 12 basketfuls of bread leftover.
People said this about Jesus in John 5:14…
“After the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”
At that point Jesus said, “I am that prophet and don’t call me Surely.”
Just kidding, Jesus never said this line.
People were amazed at Jesus.
They knew he was a special prophet from God.
This is who we have faith in today, a God that took a happy meal and turned it to feed over 15,000 people.
What is impossible with humans is possible with God.
