FYI: I spent the last couple of days in Nebraska visiting my dad and family. I still wrote a blog and I will get caught up for the days I missed today.
What if you were wrong?
What if you thought you had an idea but were off base with it?
Jesus goes to the temple courts and doesn’t see much right.
There were people selling things right in the court.
The Temple became about making money.
Jesus wasn’t too happy with this.
John 2:15-16…
“So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father’s house into a market!”
Some people I know would say not much has change from then till now.
The Church only cares about money.
Jesus was against being a for profit business in the middle of God’s house.
In the past two weeks I have talked to five people that’s number 1 issue with the Church is money.
They feel the Church is all about the money.
It hard to grasp sometimes.
Jesus talks about money more than any other subject.
Why?
Money is close to our hearts.
We struggle with something that is close to our hearts.
My job that I love is talking and leading middle and high school students.
With money, you can sometimes see how they live their lives.
Some are modest, some can have every toy under the sun.
Money can get personal.
Jesus took it personal when they were selling things in the Church of that time.
People became corrupt.
Sometimes we are right on with the Church and sometimes we are way off base.
I talk to a lot of people about the Church and money.
Often the first thing mentioned is the Church cares only about money.
I know there are some Churches like this, and I am sorry for that.
There are some Churches that are not all about money.
I am glad to be at one of those.
Union Christian Church is a caring and giving Church.
The Church has had special offerings for things like building a roof for Haiti and raised $10,000 to make this happen.
I can teach some people about giving, money and the Church.
Some people will listen, some won’t.
There is a greater understanding to what we know and understand.
Are you open to hear what God’s says about money?
What if God wanted to teach you how to give?
What if there was more you wanted to know about the Church and money?
What if you could find out answers about the church you didn’t know before?
I could help answer questions, feel free to write me back.
Have a great day.
