I said I'm sorry

The Simpsons has always been a great show to me.

I have watched the show from it’s beginning on the Tracy (I don’t know her last name) TV show.

Through the years I grew to love them, but with the show taking place at 8 p.m. I haven’t been able to watch them as I have kids, it’s not exactly at a four year olds level.

Some great lines came from it.

One of which that stands out in my head was Homer Simpson and the mob.

I don’t remember how it happened, but all of a sudden the mobster’s started to chase after Homer.

They started shooting at him and then Homer stopped.

He turned around and said, “I said I was sorry.”

The mobster’s stopped and replied, “Oh, what a noble act (They put away guns), shows a lot of class.”
Homer replies, “Sorry for you guys being such jerks!”

Then shooting started once again.

It’s easy to do whatever we want.

The people during the prophet Amos experienced this to their downfall.

They lived for themselves, and had to suffer God’s wrath because they were living worse then the pagans of their time.

God restores though.

If Homer would have kept his mouth shut after apologizing, he would have been fine, but instead he opened his mouth.

God has to punish the people, but yet chose not to destroy them completely and rebuild them.

Amos 9:11…

“In that day I will restore
David’s fallen tent,
I will repair its broken places,
Restore its ruins,
And build it as it used to be.”

Everybody could use a chance to be restored.

God offers that chance to the people who are the furthest from him.

No one is incapable of receiving God’s love and forgiveness.

It’s not being a good person that gets you to heaven, it’s asking God for forgiveness and accepting Christ into our lives.

What’s keep you from asking for forgiveness?

I daily apologize for falling short of who I am supposed to be.

But rather then getting down on myself (Which sometimes is very easy to do) I chose to try to improve and become better.

I hope you are too.

Have a great day.
