You might be a good Christian if…
• 10. You only listen to Christian radio.
• 9. You invite someone to Church once every while.
• 8. You wear religious T-Shirts to show your faith.
• 7. You always dress up for church.
• 6. You get your Halloween candy from a car trunk in a church parking lot instead of going door to door.
• 5. You demand that the Walmart employee wish you a Merry Christmas instead of a Happy Holiday.
• 4. You have a Jesus fish on the back of your vehicle.
• 3. You don't tip the waitress on Sunday afternoon because figuring out tips is work on the Sabbath.
• 2. Your family stops fighting as soon as you hit the church parking lot and everyone is all smiles.
• 1. You forward all emails on that instruct you, "If you love God, you'll send this to 20 of your friends.”
Thank you for all who made comments.
There were still a ton that were great that I didn’t use. I recommend that you check them out on my previous note.
Special thanks to Brian and Betsy Carter and Mike Waugh. Who went back and forward to create come awesome one’s that weren’t used.
Why did I do this?
I used this as an illustration in my sermon titled, “Faith: Our Way or God’s Way?”
(This will be really summed up)
The text was Galatians 2:15-16 but I went over what was going on in Chapter 2 before this.
The Peter and Paul were in a disagreement because Peter came with Jewish Christians and they would not eat with the Gentiles.
Paul confronts Peter on this and brings up how we were saved by faith and not by the law. By the law no one is saved.
So I brought up how we have our own laws or idea’s to justify that we are good Christians.
Often they might not be lined up with what God’s basic commands are “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul. Love your neighbors as yourself.”
Just like Jeff Foxworthy has the line, you might be a Redneck. With the help of many people including Hailee (I forgot to mention her above) I created “You might be a good Christian if…”
Overall I think it went over really well and was a great addition to the sermon.
Thank you for the input from everyone!
