Going to the Buffet and getting just a salad

Sometimes we don't think with our minds.

This often happens when I go out to eat.

I want to eat better, healthier and my Achilles heel eat less.

Yet when I go out to eat, I like to eat.

I am trying to cut back my eating though.

As a kid, we would often eat at buffet's so our parents didn't have to worry about us complaining about where we want to eat.

Buffet's had it all.

Usually we tried to eat it all.

We would always have to have a salad first then it was game on from there.

We would always leave the buffet stuffed to the max with an ice cream cone in our hands.

Now when I go out to eat (not just a buffet) I try to watch how much I eat.

This past week with Hailee and the kids gone my eating habits have went way down.

This past Sunday I joined some people over at Olive Garden for lunch.

I finished my soup, had three breadsticks and a little bit of a side dish.

I was completely full.

At one point I would finish all that off and eat off some of Hailee's and the kids.

Food is always a temptation for me.

I can do good eating for a while, but often my habits go back.

I am trying to improve on this with my health problems.

Some days are better than other days.

After getting baptized Jesus was tempted in Matthew chapter 4 verse 1-3…

"Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."

This is an interesting section.

If God wants the best for all of us, why would he send Jesus into the desert to be tempted by the devil?

Temptation is hard enough as it is.

Why would God send Jesus to be tempted by the Devil?

Jesus handled whatever the devil threw at him. He made it through that tough time, yet it leaves us to wonder.

Does he do this to us?

We are all tempted in one way or another.

7 out of 10 men are said to look at porn at least once a week.

When we go out to eat we are tempted to eat the most unhealthy thing there is.

When we go Christmas shopping we like something so much we have to get it for ourselves.

We are tempted in life.

Jesus was able to overcome the greatest temptations the devil threw at him.

I hope one day I will continue to grow more like him that I won't be tempted as much.

Yet temptation is all around us.

We need accountability.

Sometimes God puts people in our lives to hold us accountable for our actions.

Do you have someone that keeps you accountable?

Or is there someone in your life that can keep you accountable?

Temptation isn't often handled like Jesus did.

Yet God puts people in our lives to help us through anything.

Have a great day.
