What’s around that corner?

You never know when something good is going to happen.

You always know something bad is around the corner though.

There is always a 'what if' situation.

What if this happens or what if that happens.

This past weekend watching football was a bad weekend for Spartan fans.

It was the first game I got to watch this year, they got destroyed, the score doesn't show they were beat up pretty bad.

I have to give it to my cousin Tom's Badgers, they were the better team.

Then on top of that, Michigan won which just makes for a bad day.

Then Sunday you prepare for the Lions to lose.

This week was different.

I have long days on Sundays so I am never able to watch the Lions play, but I check how they did on my phone.

I checked it out and they did great.

They won for the first time in almost two years.

This is just after writing about how long it could be for them to win and we don't know.

Amazing how that works, just like it's amazing how God works.

He continues one with you do not know when Jesus is coming back with a parable about a wedding.

Some ladies were supposed to wait and keep watch for the bridegroom with lamps.

Half were prepared and brought oil and the other half did not.

When the bridegroom started to come half were prepared and half weren't.

The half that weren't prepared had to leave to get oil and by the time they cameback they were not allowed in.

They blew their chance.

Jesus ends this story by saying this in Matthew 25:13…

"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."

We don't know when Jesus is coming back, but we have to be prepared.

Jesus is real and he is coming back for us.

The time and date is unknown but we must still be prepared.

Why would we be prepared, because you don't know what could happen.

It's just like life.

If the Lions didn't prepare to face the Redskins, they would have never won.

If there is a job you really want but need a master's degree for it, you would prepare for that job by going to school for your master's.

You have to be prepared in life for the things you want.

If you want a better job, you have to make sure you are qualified for that job.

Jesus wants to give us a life after death, eternal life, we just have to make a decision for that to happen.

We have to be prepared.

What do you need to be prepared for today?

Maybe it's work.

Maybe it's school.

Maybe it's something unexpected.

You will not always know what to be prepared for in life.

Yet just like you get prepared for work or school every morning no matter what's going to happen.

You can do the same thing with your relationship with God.

Be prepared today.

Be prepared in faith.
