Split in two

When I think of things breaking two things come to mind, bones and sports equipment.

I have been hurt enough to know the pain of breaking something, it's not fun.

With sports equipment I think of mostly hockey sticks.

Sticks used to be made of wood, now basically none are made of wood.

With wood hockey sticks, I have broken my share.

One time I just bought a new goalie stick and the second time I used it, it broke.

A $63 dollar stick broke the second time I used it.

No matter how durable wood is, it can break.

You get used to seeing this with sticks.

When you think of a house, the stronger the foundation the more it's standing up to what could happen to it.

The Temple was built strong.

Yet Jesus was going to tear this down.

He was on the cross on his deathbed.

When Jesus died something interesting happened in Matthew 27:51…

"At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split."

That makes me think.

How often do you see rock split?

How difficult would that be?

It wasn't a small break; it was torn in two from top to bottom.

Jesus's death went through just like what was said, he split the Temple in two.

The people around Jesus instantly realized he was the Son of God.

They saw something amazing happened when Jesus died.

They believed.

We don't have the same sign that they had.

You really have to picture what this would look like, words can't always describe best what a picture or movie would.

That's why it's faith, it's something we don't fully understand or can justify.

It's faith.

Jesus was real, he was a savior and it was for me and for you that he died.

Do you believe?

How would this change you?

Have a great day.
