I have a fever and the only cure is more cowbell

I never enjoy being sick.

Not that I know anyone that does.

Yet this happens to everyone.

I don't like being sick to the point where someone else has to help me while I feel useless. (Yet when we get older this is something that everyone will have to deal with.)

I have had two major knee surgeries in my life.

Neither were fun and the worst part was having someone watch over me (Other than the pain).

The second time I had knee surgery was when Connor was about a month old.

I felt so bad for Hailee.

She dealt with a newborn and basically had to take care of me along the way.

This required waking up a couple of times a night to refill my ice during the night.

It was not an easy task for her.

Yet she made it through.

Ever feel useless and you couldn't do anything about it?

Jesus went to Simon's house and found his mother-in-law sick with a fever.

Now I know it used to be if you have a fever, there was nothing to stop it and you could die from it.

So the few disciples Jesus had told him about it.

This was how Jesus responded in Mark 1:31…

"So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them."

At first glance, I thought, "She was healed then began to serve them? That sucks, Jesus healed her so she could serve them."

No, that is not the way it was.

She was so thankful for Jesus healing her it was the least she could do for him.

She was thankful.

How often do we show thanks to others?

There are people who have done a lot for us and we often don't think about what we could do to help them.

How can you show thanks to the people around you today?

There are so many people to be thankful for that go unnoticed.

How can you change that?

Have a great day.
