Investigation

Before know the full story, we have to look at different perspectives.

Behind every song, game and moment of life there is a deeper story.

There is a song I like that I found the meaning about yesterday.

The song was by the group Fee and titled "Everything Falls."

I loved the song and loved hearing the meaning behind the song.

There was something behind looking deeper into it.

You truly appreciate some things when you know more about them.

I love hearing about the meaning behind things.

It usually takes investigation to get there.

You can't take one person's perspective behind the situation, you have to get multiple perspectives.

VH1 used to do a show (I have no idea if they still do it) titled "Behind the Music," you found out the stories behind some of the famous musicians.

You get different perspectives and it adds to your understanding.

We have to look at things from a different set of eyes to get a new view sometimes.

When we just look at things through our eyes, we miss a lot.

I just finished up going through the second of the four gospels (Story about Jesus).

Now I turn to the next book Luke.

Luke starts off his book in an interesting way.

He explains why he is doing this.

It's just four verses, but it's different, it stats a purpose.

This is Luke 1:3…

"Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus."

Luke states that he is writing this book to a person.

While there are many different ideas if he wrote this to one person or if it was just a general name that he shared this with, the main point is it spread and still is valuable to today.

Luke is explaining what he investigated and came up with.

It's pretty interesting how the four gospels go over the same story yet they highlight different facts and attributes of Jesus.

In my sports writing days, it pretty simple why they do this.

You write to a different audience.

John, Mark, Luke and Matthew all reach different people.

When covering a sporting event, you cover the local teams.

When I lived in Lansing and if I went away to cover an event, I would cover it from the Lansing teams perspective rather than the opponents.

The people that read the story want to see how their local team did, not a team they don't know anything about.

We put our focus in different areas.

I liked the intro to Luke.

He investigated and is sharing that with us.

I am excited to see a new perspective on the same story.

It's always great to get a new perspective.

What do you need a new perspective on?

Do you need to try looking at something through the eyes of someone else?

When we look past ourselves and through the eyes of other people, we become more caring and understanding than ever before.

Try looking through the eyes of someone else today, how could your view change?

Have a great day.
