Pain

There are different kinds of pain.

The pain of watching our favorite teams losing or getting embarrassed.

There is pain when we struggling with depression and feel there's no way out.

Physical pain is often the one we can see or hear about the most.

Due to the couple of times I hurt my knees, I cringe.

It's just a mental thing but when I see someone hurt their knee, it makes me think of my own pain I went through.

The last time I really messed up my knee was over 3 or 4 summers ago.

I was playing hockey and slid across the ice (Doing a pretty standard move) but my skate caught a rut in the ice.

My foot stopped, my body did not.

My kneecap was dislocated.

I screamed in pain louder than I ever have a day in my life.

One in a million my knee specialist said.

She told me my knee got stuck underneath the metal frame on edge of my brace.

It took a trip to the hospital and knocking me out in order for them to cut the brace.

Once the brace was cut, my knee cap went back into place.

I am glad I was knocked out by then

I was in pain.

Yet the pain we go through, was nothing like what Jesus went through on the cross.

Mark 15:17, is one of the levels of pain…

"They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him."

This is one of the many forms of torture they did to Jesus.

They used some thick thorns that were made into a crown.

Imagine catching your finger on a rosebush or a cactus.

Immediate you feel the pain and see the blood.

That same little pain…..

Imagine it being a crown on your forehead.

They didn't just set this on his head carefully.

They dug it on his head.

Blood comes out.

It's a painful experience we can't comprehend or think about sometimes.

This was just one of the many painful things they did to Jesus.

This was not a quick death, it was slow and painful.

It dragged on.

My kneecap was out of place for about an hour.

That was an hour of immense pain.

Sometimes we all go through that immense pain.

Yet our pain is different than the pain Jesus went through.

That very painful experience was for us.

Was for me.

Was for you.

Hard to think about and often I don't.

I don't think about the pain and sacrifice Jesus made for me.

We don't live our lives like that sometimes.

He did this for each one of us.

Went through a painful death.

Yet through that pain, we can truly live.

We can be forgiven for the wrong in our lives.

What pain are you going through that only Jesus can forgive you for?

If you come close to God, he will come close to you.

There is nothing Jesus can't forgive that you do.

We don't have to hide behind guilt anymore.

We can be free, because of one man's pain.

Jesus.

Maybe today is the day that pain can go away for you?

Once you make that commitment to follow him and give that pain over to him.

It's gone for good.

All it takes is faith.

If you are wondering what faith is all about give me a call or send me a message.

If you have issues with the Bible or faith that is keeping you from making a decision, give me a call or a message.

Have a great day.
