What, Me Worry?

Mad Magazine makes me laugh.

Whether at the age of 10 or now, it can still make me laugh.

I could read and look at a Mad Magazine for hours.

Every time I look, I find something new that would make me laugh.

Did you ever get Mad Magazine?

Behind the cover was always a familiar face.

Alfred E. Newman was always on the cover.

No matter what happened on the cover or how they designed it, he always said the same expression, "What, Me Worry?"

Awful things could happen to him in the picture but always the same thing, "What, Me Worry?"

We could learn a lot from Mr. Newman, what is worth worrying about?

Along with worry, it bring a long a lot of anxiety.

When we worry there is no benefit to it.

If you are like me and struggle with worry and anxiety, this is what God's word says in Luke 12:22-26…

"Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?"

Jesus tells us that worrying about things does not add to our lives.

There is no benefit from worrying.

Yet people struggle with this.

I struggle with this.

Certain times and situations, I struggle pretty bad with anxiety and worrying.

I don't know why, but I do.

I needed to be reminded of these verses.

There is nothing about worrying that adds to our lives.

We have a choice everyday to worry or not.

We can look towards the good or help someone towards the good or we can look for the bad.

When we worry we tend to have a negative attitude on life.

This is not what God meant for our lives.

If you are like me and struggle sometimes with anxiety and worrying, my prayers go out to you.

Hopefully this scripture will help you out during those tough times.

I know I could always use the reminder.

Have a great day.
